Overview

The Ponca Department of Finance receives a large portion of its funding from two Federal Agencies: the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and the Indian Health Service (IHS). Since 1994 the Tribe has actively pursued and steadily increased its funding from other services in order to provide additional services to its members. Since 1994 total funding has increased more than 180%.

The "other" increases in funding are due to the Tribe receiving grants from various agencies:

• Deparment of Justice
• U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
• U.S. Department of Transportation
• State of Nebraska
• Health and Human Services
  

The Tribe has effectively obtained funding from sources other than BIA and IHS in an effort to diversify funding sources and reduce the financial dependency on BIA and IHS appropriations.

To provide the Tribe and other interested parties timely, accurate and informative financial information. Maintainthe fiscal integrity of the Tribe's financial resources, comply with rules and regulations promulgated by the tribe and varions federal and state agencies. Deliver the highest level of service to all of our customers.
