The Election Board Committee Members would like to extend our sincere apologies in regard to the letter that was sent out that many of you have received or will be receiving in the coming days. There was an error in the wording of the information that was provided.
Below you will see the highlighted incorrect statement that reads “Please note that you are not registered to vote”…. This should read “Please note that IF you are not registered to vote”
Please understand we are not requesting all tribal members to reregister to vote. This notice was sent out to all members in case one of the following has happened recently:
1. You have moved from one district to another
2. Your legal name has changed due to marriage or divorce
3. Someone completed the from for you – if this is the case you will need to complete your own voter registration form as signatures are verified
4. Your signature has changed
Please note that if you completed a form and you shortened your name or used a nickname this will be invalid. All members must use their legal names and sign their own voter registrations. Absolutely no exceptions.
